I've found other people having this problem on various forums, but no posted solution. When launched, the process shows up briefly in Task Manager but the player window never. TMT v.129 works in Vista SP2 RC, but not in Windows 7. Anyway, in case you haven't heard about the death of the optical disc and still need or want to play a DVD or Blu-ray on your PC, you could do far worse than ArcSoft's TotalMedia Theatre 6.

However, when I select TotalMedia Theatre from with Media Center, it does'nt play full screen - instead, it plays in a window on top of the Media Center background, such that there is a 2" blue border all around the movie being played. Native blu-ray playback in the Windows 7 RTM would be sweet, but until then I have been using Arcsofts TotalMedia Theatre (TMT) for blu-ray playback. When I play Blu-rays from the the stand-alone player, the software correctly goes full screen and plays back perfectly. However, I've got one small problem that I'd like to resolve before I buy a licence. I found plenty of recommendations for TotalMedia Theatre so downloaded the trial of version 6 and immediately liked what I saw. I never liked it much, it didn't integrate with Media Center, and last week it just plain stopped working. I had been using PowerDVD to playback Blu-ray disks, for the simple reason that it was the software that came with the Blu-ray drive. I built it myself, and like to think I know my way around the hardware and software. Arcsoft TotalMEdia Theatre file has been upgraded to the latest version (5.3) and does not appear to have any files of this name.) 15:03:00 The application-specific permission settings do not.
